The IAM Credo of the Heart

Principle Personally

1. There is one heart which is reflected in all beings.

Each heart is like a mirror in which the one heart appears differently. The experience of the One Being is enhanced by experiencing its Self in all these varied reflections. The heart loves diversity.

I accept and celebrate the differences in humanity.

2. The one heart may be called the Heart of the Lord, or the Heart of All.

Christ, Abraham, Moses, Mohammed, Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Buddha and other world teachers, known and unknown to the public, became so identified with the whole of humanity that their hearts became the Heart of All. We celebrate the truth these teachers brought to humanity, but remain free from the dogma, rigidity, exclusion and intolerance that has become associated with the world's religions.

All religions unite in the worship of the Heart, and my heart delights in every type of worship of love, harmony and beauty.

3. Every heart, being both material and non-material, connects body, mind and soul.

The heart is the focus of the light of the soul. It is the first organ to develop in the body. It radiates visible light and a measurable magnetic field.

I demonstrate my respect for the heart by my heart-healthy diet and lifestyle.

4. The heart remembers the purpose of life and guides one toward its fulfillment.

The heart attracts those situations and people that help to discover or accomplish its wish. The heart speaks by creating sensations, dreams, coincidences, synchronicity and revelation.

I listen to my heart's guidance and aspire to know the purpose of my life which it holds. My meditation is remembrance.

5. The heart is a reservoir of energy that can be spent and refilled.

The energy of the heart is Love. It is powerful, dissipating fear, victim mentality and helplessness. Its capacity of energy can be spent or leaked, and replenished.

I will recharge my heart through music, nature, beauty, movement, and meditation.

6. The heart is sensitive and holds all the impressions made upon it.

The heart has no defense except deadening. When it is "alive", it is sensitive to all impressions; when it is "dead", it is insensitive to all. The way to speak to the heart is by repetition.

I will honor the sensitivity of my heart by being conscious of what I expose my heart to, cultivating in it the impressions of beauty and nobility. Recognizing that my heart's wounds limit my ability to achieve my purpose, I strive to heal these wounds: to attain a state where I have no blame toward anyone and no regrets.

7. The heart is powerful and projects its condition upon the world.

What the heart wants, the heart creates. What the heart is accustomed to, it reproduces. It naturally generates beauty, happiness and wealth.

I will project my heart into the world to create beautiful physical and psychological environments.

8. The heart has a rhythm that heals its own wounds and directs the mind and body.

The heart's rhythm is broadcast to every cell and out into the environment. When entrained with the breath, it becomes healing and harmonizing.

I will create rhythm in my breath and my daily schedule so as to connect to life, maintain my health, and have the greatest and best effect on others in my life.

9. The heart has layers: mind, personal emotion, conscience, impersonal emotion.

The heart's emotion rises and appears in the mind as a thought. Feeling gives insight to the mind, and results in a natural morality, based on consideration, not static law.

I will let love rise from my heart, illuminating my mind, rather than make judgments from my mind.

10. The heart performs synthesis; the mind performs analysis.

The mind looks for differences; the heart feels similarities. The heart recognizes itself in all others.

I will delight in finding myself in others.

11. To develop the heart, one must give it away.

Send out whatever you wish to receive. Increase the flow of heart energy by responding to need.

I will respond generously to the needs of others. I will forgive others that forgiveness may flow through me, gracing my life.
